On the inside of the forearm are the flexor muscles that allow you to grab something with your hand. On the other side of the forearm are the stretching muscles that stretch the hand again.
Tendons run from those muscles to your fingers as 'strings'. When the flexors contract, they flex your fingers through the tendons. In order for these tendons to slide smoothly, they run through a kind of tubes that are filled with lubricant. We call these tubes sheaths. A finger brace is a very suitable tool to guide your finger when you experience many complaints from your trigger finger.
